Transistions: Scolari's Office; Locals Only Column Kaput

Dialed In is reporting via myspace that effective immediately, all shows at Scolari's Office or "The Office" as it is supposedly now known, are cancelled. Aw- that's an instiution. Should mean an attendance uptick at The Zombie Lounge. You can leave flowers & card on the punk board- they love the mushy stuff over there.

In other Local Music news, San Diego City Beat has shitcanned the Local's Only column, or as readers of this space know it, "the only thing left worth reading in San Diego City Beat since Troy Johnson stopped writing If I Were You." I don't begrudge Nathan Dinsdale an opportunity to put his imprint.... but... I haven't read San Diego City Beat in about two months. Not impressed.

If you want to see Mr. Dinsdale try his hand at some Coachella related humor, click here and head on over to City Beat's failed attempt at blogging (Alexa rank 924,487). No comment on that.

Word on the street is that whatever replaces local's only is going to be helmed by Kinsee Morlan, who lives in Tijuana, not San Diego. So I looke forward to more coverage of Tijuana but less of, you know, San Diego, and it's local music scene. But hey, who reads San Diego City Beat for its local music coverage?

The web home of "Overheard in San Diego"

I love the Overheard in San Diego feature from the San Diego Reader, penned by friend-of-Cat-Dirt Jay Allen Sanford. And now they're all online- including my favorite- the Sessions Fest Overheard... Check it out...
