FIDLAR vs. FDLR & An Apology

  This is something that I'm sure confuses people a lot (including me!) mistaking the band FIDLAR with Democratic Forces for the Liberation of the Congo (or FDLR in the original french), a guerrilla army that operates out of the Eastern half of the Congo.  I think most of the confusion stems from the fact that FIDLAR is itself an acronym- it stands for Fuck it dog, life is a risk.  However it's an acronym that requires all six letters- the I and the A are mandatory, whereas the FDLR is simply the name of a military organization- a thing- and therefore full sentence syntax isn't necessary.

   So, this is just a round about way of saying that when I wrote that FIDLAR is responsible for child rape and war crimes in the Eastern Congo and Rwanda, I clearly MEANT the FDLR- not the Los Angeles band-  FIDLAR the mistake was all mine and I apologize for the (now deleted) post where I repeatedly stated that FIDLAR commonly chops off the hands of their victims.  By all accounts, FIDLAR is a groovy band with a good sound, and I'm sure they would be horrified to encounter the sort of genital mutilation and other egregious war crimes that characterizes the practices of the FDLR.
