Crocodiles Are Big in France

Crocodiles Endless Flowers LP edged close to the top 500 in Amazon in Paid MP3 albums.  That's not Japandroids or Beach House territory, but it's legitimate. In the UK it's at 350 in MP3 albums, and in France Endless Flowers is at 133 in "Musique."   In France, the new Beach House LP is at 50 on the same chart.

Good examples of Endless Flowers reviews have appeared at The Line of Best Fit and This is Fake DIY.  "Mixed" reviews appeared in Consequence of Sound and Pitchfork.  I think its more important to look just at the number of reviews then what was written.  I'm reminded of the scene in Spinal Tap where Rob Reiner reviews critics statements about some of the Spinal Tap LP catalog- it doesn't change the fact that this is a documentary about Spinal Tap and their past, presumably sales-related glory years. In the end all you can do is look at the total size of the Audience, the rate of expansion, achieving higher sales levels in different territories and increasing the per-show payment in each territory.

Spin gave Endless Flowers a twitter review and Rolling Stone hasn't published a review. I'm curious to see what the impact of a Rolling Stone album review might or might not on the Audience size for a rock band.  Nothing? A lot?
